No Red or Pink Valentines....

Hi Susan here....

Today is the mid-challenge reminder for Fussy and Fancy. Full details of the challenge and some fabulous inspiration from the design team can be found on the Fussy and Fancy Challenge Blog. The on-going theme is 'Valentines - Without Red or Pink'. Now I thought that was going to be a hard one, but the last few weeks I have done quite a lot of valentines and not included red or pink so I got my thinking cap on and here we go.....Please call across to the Fussy and Fancy Challenge Blog and join in the fun with us.

Now for my card...

My backing papers for this card came from a beautiful 12x12 DCWV stack called Far East. The papers are so thick and textured and the colours are beautiful. The edges have been distressed and then glittered with stickles. As usual the lace, ribbon, pins, which I have altered, and pearls all come from our local market. My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the leaves I made myself. The large pearl encrusted heart I made myself.

This beautiful frame and word sentiment have been designed by Ann Vento and they are available from Raindrop Echo Designs. Please call across you will not be disappointed, the word art and the many different frames are absolutely pure inspiration. The edges of the frame I have coloured in using chalks and then I glittered the edges and the little hearts.

  2. Your card is amazing Susan ! The sentiment is beautiful and the embellishments are gorgeous ! I always mean to ask you and Emma a question about the glitter you put around the edges : may I ask you what you use ? I have tried Stickles before but I can't apply thinly like you do... Thank you ! Hugs and love from Catherine
