Lexi's Creations....Christmas in July

Hi Susan here....

Today over at Lexi's Creations we are starting a new challenge....the theme for this new challenge is
'Christmas in July'
A really nice easy challenge for this time of the year when we are all thinking of making cards for family, friends and to sell.....you can make anything for this challenge not just cards, but ATC's, bookmarks, tags, 3D item, scrapbook pages, altered items, you decide it's quite an open challenge as long as the Christmas theme is carried on your project. You can find full details on the challenge blog, plus some fabulous inspiration from my design team.

Here is my card....

I love making Christmas cards, great fun!
My backing papers for this were from Nitwits, all the edges have been distressed with inks and glittered with stickles.
The large gingerbreadman is a bigz die from Sizzix. Don't you just love gingerbreadmen, they are such jolly little fellas!
The gorgeous ribbon is from our local market.
The calendar is one of my own designs

This is such a cute digi image, designed by our own Lexi Lee called 'Gingerbread House' and available from Fairy Dust Crafts
I have used promarkers for the colouring and distress inks for the edging. Stickles here there and everywhere to make it glitter.

Thank you for taking the time to look and for your wonderful comments
Love and hugs

Fussy & Fancy...Christmas in July...

Hi Susan here....

Over at Fussy and Fancy the continuing challenge gets the addition of Group B's creations to give you some further inspiration for the theme 'Christmas in July'. To get all the information you need about the challenge and our sponsor this time and to see some fabulous creations from the design team call across to the Fussy and Fancy Challenge Blog.

Now for my card....

Well if any of you saw my post earlier you would have noticed that blogger has been playing up and removed my photo and all my 'blurb'....anyway here we go again!!

My favourite time of the year is Christmas so this card was not hard for me to do. I hope you like it.

My backing paper and vellum is from my stash, so pleased I found it all.....I used the beautiful green paper first on my card then overlayed it with the gorgeous vellum, folding it over the crease line of the card.

For added texture I have used a piece of red corrugated card over the top of a piece of the green backing paper, then added the gros grain ribbon.

The poinsettia flower I made myself, using a five petal shape and deckle scissors.

The chipboard letters I have had for ages, the original colour was awful, so I used two different Tim Holtz ink pads and coloured them, then added some glitter and on top of that I put a thick layer of glossy accents.

I think the whole thing came together quite nice, I hope you do!!
Thank you for looking and for leaving all your wonderful comments they are so welcome.
Love Susan
