Side by side....

Hi Susan here....

At Lexi's Creations today we are starting a new challenge and the theme is 'Glitter and Pearls', well thats easy isn't it!!
Full details of the challenge and some fabulous inspiration from the design team can be found at the Lexi's Creation Challenge Blog. Call across and take a look and join in the fun with us all.

Now to my card...

Well this is a different card for me....I wanted to keep it really simple in the design and the colours....so I choose turquoise and white. My base card is from The Paper Mill Shop and the top section of the card I embossed using a cuttlebug embossing folder of swirls.
The turquoise satin ribbon and pearls are from our local market.

This fabulous sentiment is from Fairy Dust Crafts and has been designed by Lexi. It is called 'Side by Side'. Check out Lexi's store for some great offers at the moment. I cut my own shape for the topper and mat and layered it onto a turquoise card. All the edges have been distressed and glittered with stickles.

These beautiful butterflies are another one of Lexi's creations and they are available from Fairy Dust Studios, they are called 'DIY Butterfly'. Called that because they are very plain and can be finished however you want them to be. I coloured mine with chalks and then glittered around the edges of the wings and body.

My pins are from our local market, I have added extra pearls and a crystal divider.

My flowers are a mix, the white ones are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the turquoise rose I handmade it using the turquoise card I used on the card.

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Simple Doodles - Photo inspiration (I choose to use turquoise and white)

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my card and for all your wonderful comments, they are very much appreciated, I hope you liked it.

I had a lot of fun making this mini pizza box, if you want to make one yourself look HERE.... The card I used for the box is a beautiful pearlescent red card from The Paper Mill Shop. The other backing papers and ribbon are bits and pieces from my stash. I inked and distressed the backing papers.

I filled it with some red tissue paper and fancy soap and talc.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

This cute little digi image has been designed by Marina Neira and can be found at The Stamping Bazaar Store, take a look at the special offers available for a short while there. The image is called 'Josie with Pinecone'. I used Promarkers to colour the image in and then gently inked the edge of the topper before layering it onto a scalloped piece of green card.

A Gift for you!!!.....

Hi Susan here....

Today at Fussy and Fancy it is the chance for Group B to remind you of our ongoing challenge 'Anything but a card'. Its a great chance to make something for someone special as a gift. For full details of the challenge and to see some fantastic inspiration from the design team call HERE, and join in the fun with us all.

Now onto my creation for this challenge....

I made a gable box for the challenge, its a fabulous size and holds quite a good size gift, mine has a fancy pair of socks rolled up inside it!!
You can find the details of how to make the gable box from Splitcoast Stampers HERE.
My red card base is from The Papermill Shop and is a beautiful textured card. The rest of the backing papers are from my stash, I distressed the edges and added some glitter. The little piece of hessian and raffia trim is from our stash.

This gorgeous little digi image is just one of the new releases designed by Marina Neira that are on a special offer at the moment from The Stamping Bazaar Store, he is called Marvin with Candy Cane. I have coloured him in using Promarkers and then cut him out to layer him on top of the hessian. The flower is from Prima, I added extra colour with chalks and glittered the edges of the petals with stickles then used a yellow brad in the centre.

My sentiment designed by Ann Vento is from Raindrop Echo Designs. I used a twisting technique on my computer to slightly twist the text, then I changed the colour of the text from black to red, after that I cut the tag shape and gently inked the outer edges before distressing and adding glitter to the outer edges. The ribbon and candy cane brad are from our stash.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my gift box and for leaving all your wonderful comments, they are very much appreciated. I hope you liked it.

Happy New Year....

Hi Susan here.....

Today at The Stamping Bazaar we have our seventh challenge starting, the theme is a sketch designed by Emma, see below.....

For full details of the challenge and to check out the fabulous inspirational ideas from the design team call across to The Stamping Bazaar.

Now to my creation....

I have followed the sketch and decided to do something different from a card, and because Christmas celebrations lead into New Year parties I have made a party invitation....

My backing papers are all from an 8x8 scrapbooking pad by DCWV called A Pocket Full of Posies, the papers are all pre-glittered and are perfect for celebrations. I have distressed the edges and added more glitter. The plain blue card has been cut with a zig zag edge and matted onto a brown backer, all the edges again have been distressed and glittered. The lace and ribbon are from our local market.

This beautiful cute little image is another new design by Marina Neira and is available at The Stamping Bazaar Store, her name is 'Partytime Louisa'. I coloured her using Promarkers and added glitter here and there, I then cut the design into an oval shape and an oval scalloped backer, the edges have been distressed and glittered.

The tickets are from Raindrop Echo Designs designed by Ann Vento, I have mixed them myself, by blanking out the middles of Ann's tickets and putting in my own sentiments. The edges of the tickets have been coloured using Promarkers and then glittered.

My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the leaves I made myself.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Thank you for taking the time to look at my creation, and for your many wonderful comments that you leave. I hope you liked it.

Happy Anniversary.....

Hi Susan here.....

To a new challenge has started at Sentimental Sundays. and this week's challenge is: Happy Anniversary! (plus a sentiment). Take a break from all the Christmas craziness and make a card for your own special someone on your special day, or make one to send to a special couple that is celebrating their own special day. Call across to The Sentimental Sunday Challenge Blog and check out the full details of the challenge and take a look at all the wonderful creations from the design team....WOW! you will be amazed.

Now onto my card....

I have a very special couple in mind for this card, I used a fabulous backing paper from Bearlymine, the edges have been distressed and glittered, then machine stitched. My base card is from The Paper Mill Shop. The pearls and lace are all from our local market.

I used a Fiskars template and cut out the heart shape around my image, I backed itonto a deep red scalloped card, I have distressed and glittered the edge, then put a frill of lace all round the edge, and machine stitched everything in place.

This ever so cute image is from The Stamping Bazaar Store and has been designed by Marina Neira. His name is 'Shy Sammy'. I used Promarkers to colour the image, and added a little bit of glitter on the hearts.

My sentiments are a mixture of two that have been designed by the very talented Ann Vento, the tickets and the wordart, available from Raindrop Echo Designs. I blanked out the middle of the tickets on the computer and joined my choice of sentiments to the centre. I coloured the outer edges with Promarkers then gently inked towards the middle with distressing inks.

My flowers, buds and leaves I made myself using pieces of the card I used on the project.

I am entering this card into the following challenges -

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my card, and for leaving all your wonderful comments. I hope you liked it.
