Christmas in July at Fussy and Fancy.....
Hi Susan here, this is my DT card for Fussy and Fancy this week!
The Fussy and Fancy Challenge #14 has a theme 'Christmas in July', it runs until Friday 16th but get your entries in before 8pm Thursday 15th for a chance of winning a $15 gift certificate from our sponsor Simon Says Stamps. Try and have a go, you will at least have one christmas card done then for the coming season!!
Back to my card.... I have chosen a great sketch from The Sweet Stop Challenge, and I have used a selection of backing papers from DCWV - Christmas Scrapbook Stack. They are a fabulous set of papers, funky! and cute, just right for my image!!! I have kept my colour scheme to a traditional fun red and green. I mat and layered all the papers onto a plain green card and then I distressed all the edges before I glittered them with stickles.
The ribbon as usual comes from our local market.
Isn't this the most adorable fairy. the image is a wooden based stamp from Penny Black and it is called Christmas Fairy. Love her, we have had this stamp for ages and have used it time and time again.
Keeping to my colour scheme I used Pro-Markers to colour it in, then I inked the background slightly before I distressed the edges and glittered them using stickles, you can't have too much sparkle at Christmas!!!
This is a close up of my handmade Poinsetta flowers, I made these using a petal punch, and cutting various sections off the petals before shaping them into the flowers, the brad in the centre is a fluffy texture.
This charm I bought on holiday in Witchita a long time ago!! I thought it looked just right here and seemed to match the stocking in the fairies hand!!

Celebration...
Hi there Susan here, hope you like this card, it was a totally different shape for me, I usually make square ones! Oh well life's about change, and I did enjoy working from the Fussy and Fancy Sketch this week.
The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the swirl is my own hand made version. I don't think I will ever be allowed near the pearls again, they were flirting all over the place when I was constructing this swirl, and as my family already know I'm not good near liquids, if there is liquids around I just seem to home into them and well you can guess what happens, now they know it is the same near loose beads!! Oh well I try.
The backing papers are from daisyd's, I've had this in my stash for ages.
This is the first one of my little Penny Black stamps, love these little stamps they are so charming...
Who couldn't love this little hedgehog swinging on a flowery rope...
And this little one, my favourite of the three, I've used her lots of times. I coloured all three in using Pro-Markers.
The ribbon and lace is from my local market.

Just for you ...
Hi there, it's Susan. I have had some fun this weekend, working from sketches.
This card uses The Sweet Stop Sketch, such a nice simple sketch that was really inspiring. My backing papers were from stock that I have had in for a while.
The ribbon as usual was from my local market.
....here is my image. The stamp is a Penny Black. Such a gorgeous little stamp with the butterflies fluttering around her head and that beautiful straw hat full of flowers! I coloured it in with Pro-Markers.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the sentiment I made using my computer.

Someone Special ....
Hi Susan again with another card to show you.
This was made using a sketch from The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge Blog, I turned the sketch on its side for a slightly different look but still keeping to the sketch.
I have used a selection of candy coloured paper from my stock, sorry can't remember where its from. I thought the stamped image called for lots of soft candy colours and textures so thats what I used.
The lace is from my local market as always, love shopping around for ribbons and lace.
This is a wooden based stamp from Penny Black which I love. I have coloured it in using soft toned chalks and the flowers on the image I coloured in using Pro-Markers. I mat and layered it using Nestabilities.
The large yellow/orange flowers I made myself using a punch, and colour edging the petals with inks then shaping and putting together with a spacer and brad in the centre. The smaller flowers are from Bunny Zoes Crafts which I edge coloured to match my colour scheme.
The label I made on my computer, and mat and layered it to match the main image.
