A Vintage Treasure Chest....

Hey there everyone, Emma here.....

Well this week I finally got some free time to have a play and make something a bit different that is going to make a fabby little gift!!!!

I found these great little bown chests from Hobbycraft as you can see in the picture below......

I had so much fun decorating this cute little Treasure Chest up!!  I painted the top of the box with Tim Holtz Crackle Paint in Tattered Rose {LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff!!!!}, then I distressed the edges a little when it was all completely dry with some distress ink.  I used some gorgeous papers from My Minds Eye all around the sides and distressed the edges.....

....I used a little metal cream frame that I have had for ages, I distressed it up a bit and added some flowers and charms which are from Bunny Zoes, the tulle is from the market...

....I LOVE using Tim Holtz Crackle Paint, the effect is amazing and I really love the shabby/vintage look it gives to everything. I have used Rock Candy on the heart and some buttons from stash...

....I love using things with different textures on my creations, the pin is also from the local market and I have just added some extra beads of my own...

...this is the view of the top, I have used the very gorgeous Magnolia Angel Wing Die {LOVE this die!!}, loads of bits and bobs from stash, and I am loving the label making machine {we have had for ages!}, the labels look great on vintage creations...

....I have made the large gardenia flower and the tiny blossoms myself, the other flowers are a mix from Wild Orchid, Hobbycraft and Prima....

Shy Sammy Pop Out Birthday Card...

Hi Susan here....

Well here is another card that I made with some spare time that I have had this week.....hope you like it!! I have made one of my favourite shaped cards a pop-out card!

This is the front of my card.....my backing papers are from my stash. The large doily in the background is from a die I have inked and glittered the edges. The ticket sentiment is from Raindrop Echo Designs.

This is to show you the inside and how it looks when it is open.

My ribbon is from our local market. The small butterflies are made using a punch. The edges have been made using a Magnolia edge die.

This is the butterfly in the fold of the card....I have coloured it with inks and added glitter, then cut several layers of the shape in voile and netting. I only glue the butterfly to the centre fold then it keeps the wings free for when the card is open. The butterfly has been made using a die.

This is how the card looks from the side to show the cut out piece from the inside to reveal the large butterfly.

This little digi image is well known to most of you, it has been designed by Marina Neira and is called 'Shy Sammy'.....he can be found at The Stamping Bazaar Store. I have used promarkers to colour and shade him.

My flowers are a mix from Prima and Hobby Craft....the large one in the centre has been handmade by me using two sizes of die, card, ink and some pearl stamens and a little bit of patience.

Fairy Birthday Card....

Hi Susan here.....

I have had some spare time this week YIPEE!! And what did I do with my time.....I decided to make some cards, shall we say just for me!! It's harder than you think making cards without a theme from your DT, but I have enjoyed myself, hope you like this one!

Emma and I recently paid a visit to a fabulous craft shop Crab Apple Crafts and saw these gorgeous stamps just waiting to be picked up. This little stamp was my inspiration. I have been making flowers and picking up new techniques this week from blogland, I love having the time to do these things.

My backing paper is absolutely beautiful, it looks just like a handmade paper but is smooth and very fine, it is from a 12x12 book from Hot Off The Press and it is called Flowered 'Handmade' papers and vellums.

My ribbons lace and gems are as usual from our local market.

The tickets are from Raindrop Echo Designs. I used Tim Holts distressing ink to colour the edge.

I looked everywhere for a ribbon to match my colours and nothing looked right so I used a white organza ribbon and Tim Holtz distressing ink to colour it so that it matched everything.

This is the darling little stamp designed by Nellie Snellen she is but one in a set of four fairies and I love it. I used chalks to colour the image and added glitter to the wings....well you have to have glittery wings when you're a fairy don't you!! I mat and layered the image after cutting it out onto a pink satin finish card and then coloured a piece of white card using Tim Holtz distressing ink the same as my tickets and butterflies.

We saw a tutorial on making these tiles at Such a Pretty Mess, Gabrielle's tutorial on Polymer Clay Tiles is amazing and gave us such a lot of inspiration, we were making these for hours.

I used the little frog fairy at the top of the stamp for this tile and put some gentle colouring on his body and glitter on his wings.

The flowers are a mixture, the smaller roses and buds are from Hobby Craft the large pink open rose is handmade by myself with inspiration from a rose bush in my back garden, I couldn't take my eyes off the rose and gave it a lot of thought before giving it a try. I have used two sizes of dies, card, inks and a lot of patience, the centre is some glass beads in clear crystal and pink.

Lexi's Creations.....Oriental

Now for my card.....

I have used kraft card, mirri and vellum from my stash for this card, using a punch for the edging on the vellum.

The little fans have been made from different shades of card to match my card and tied with a fine string.

The oriental wording means beauty.

'Ching Lan'

I have paper pieced the dress with some Nitwits backing paper and used chalks for the shading on the image.

Sentimental Sundays.....Birthday

Now onto my card....

I think this must be one of the easiest challenge themes going....I love making birthday cards, whether its for a friend or relative they are so easy to do.

This view is the front of my card, I have made one of my favourite cards a pop-out card. I love the wow factor of these cards, they are so easy to make as well.

My flowers are from Hobby Craft. The ribbon and gems are as usual from our local market.

Throughout the card I have used backing paper from my stash, I can never understand how that stash drawer stays so full when I'm always using the papers in it!!

The ticket sentiments are from Raindrop Echo Designs, I love using these, they seem to match everything!

This is to show you how the pop-out looks from the side.

This is the view of the inside so that you can see the details. The beautiful frame and sentiment in the centre is from Raindrop Echo Designs, I have used chalks to colour the frame to match my colour scheme of the card.

The punched sides match the front of the card. I have used a Multi Shaper allDeco Punch.

This is such a cute digi from Robyns Fetish its called 'A little bird told me'. I have used chalks to colour and shade the image, then used flowers the same colour as the ones on the image.

My backing papers were a mixture from my stash, love using layers of different papers, all the edges were distressed and glittered.

The ribbon and gems as usual are from our local market.

The flowers are from Hobby Craft and the leaves have been made using a punch.

My three favourite embellishments are my flowers, my backing papers and my ribbon and gems, I know thats four but I couldn't leave out anything.

My image is from Lili of the Valley, this little image always reminds me of my two girls dressing up when they were little girls....it was fun to see them playing this way.

I used chalks to colour the image. Love this medium for the depth of shading you can achieve.

I mat and layered the topper onto a blue card and distressed and glittered the edges.

This beautiful frame and sentiment is from Raindrop Echo Designs, I have used chalks to colour the frame, and then added pearls and glitter.

Today I wanted to make an extra special card, and I love the pop-out cards, they have such a wow factor.....

My backing papers are all from my stash, from various scrapbooking packs. The little butterflies are made using a punch and then colouring with inks and the added touch of glitter and pearls.

The ticket sentiment is from Raindrop Echo Designs, I love these little tickets they are so versatile.

The ribbons and gems are as usual from our local market.

This is the inside of the card showing a beautiful sentiment and frame both from Raindrop Echo Designs, I have used chalks to colour the frame the same colours as my card, which happen to be the Fussy and Fancy Colours that are needed for the extra bit of the challenge.

My image is from The Stamping Bazaar Store and is called 'Hansel with Flowers'. I love this little image and so easy to colour. I used chalks this has to be one of my favourite colouring mediums.

The large pink rose in the centre of my display I have made using a die and shaping and colouring. The rest of my flowers are from Hobby Craft. The leaves I made using a punch and colouring with inks.

Now for my card......

Today my card could be sent to a young person or a fun birthday card for a friend..... I have used three papers as the recipe called for and made an edge border using two punches and my Crafters Companion Ultimate for the edge.

My backing papers are from a Sizzix pad called Little Sizzles Rainbow Pad. Beautiful small patterns and very bright just right for a childs card.

My sentiment has been made on the computer.

My flowers are a mixture from Hobby Craft and Prima the leaves are made using a punch.

The image I chose is designed by Lexi and is called in Fairy Dust Crafts Bug 2, there are many variations of these little bugs take a look and see for yourself. I have used chalks to colour it with a little amount of stickles.

I have used the sentiment inside from our sidebar....it always makes me smile when I read it and thought it was ideal for the inside of this card.....

My Sweet Heidi......

Hi there everyone, Emma here.....

Over at the fabby Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges today our new theme this month is to make a 

SHAPED CARD... so anything but a square or rectangle.  I decided to do something a bit different...a shaped scrapbook page on my cute little Heidi when she was a baby!!!  It has been ages since I actually did any scrapbooking and I really enjoyed myself doing this page!!!  So....if you want lots more inspiration from my other lovely teamies, click HERE, we are also being sponsored by the amazing Lili of The Valley this month.

I have used so much from my stash for this page!!! The lace and ribbon are from the market, and the flowers are from Hobbycraft, I have distressed, glittered and machine stitched the edges of the page and the photo...

....I have used some sparkly pins which I added extra pearly beads of my own, the chipboard hearts I made from a cuttlebug die...

....as always I have glittered my flowers, the cute little cupcake is a little wooden embellishment that I painted white, distressed a little with some distress inks and then I coated it with Tim Holtz Rock Candy clear crackle paint....I am loving the effect of this paint!!!...

....the scrabble tiles are actually quite old and I have had them for ages, I just inked the edges of them with white ink!!!...

Fussy & Fancy...Christmas in July...

Now for my card....

Well if any of you saw my post earlier you would have noticed that blogger has been playing up and removed my photo and all my 'blurb'....anyway here we go again!!

My favourite time of the year is Christmas so this card was not hard for me to do. I hope you like it.

My backing paper and vellum is from my stash, so pleased I found it all.....I used the beautiful green paper first on my card then overlayed it with the gorgeous vellum, folding it over the crease line of the card.

For added texture I have used a piece of red corrugated card over the top of a piece of the green backing paper, then added the gros grain ribbon.

The poinsettia flower I made myself, using a five petal shape and deckle scissors.

The chipboard letters I have had for ages, the original colour was awful, so I used two different Tim Holtz ink pads and coloured them, then added some glitter and on top of that I put a thick layer of glossy accents.

I think the whole thing came together quite nice, I hope you do!!

Lexi's Creations......A Shaped Card...

Now onto my card....

I love these pop-up cards, and this is definately NOT a square or rectangle card. I love the folds and the fact that the card folds down flat and fits into a 5x5 square envelope great for putting in the post. But its the diamond shape on the front that is really eye catching, and requires nothing to keep it standing up.

I have used Bearlymine digi paper and printed direct onto the card so that the pattern went all over the card, these are beautiful designs and well worth calling across and getting some for yourself.

My flowers are from Hobby Craft and as usual my ribbon and gems are from our local market.

The sentiment die is from Tickled Pink but I slightly altered it after it was cut, the sentimet is my own made on the computer.

The gorgeous image has been designed by Lexi herself and is available from Fairy Dust Crafts, the image is called Happy Birthday Scruffles. I used promarkers to colour it in.

I love making cards that use just the sentiment as the main focus point, and Ann Vento who designs all the sentiments for Raindrop Echo Designs has designed so many beautiful ones just calling out to be used, if you haven't already you really must make a visit to this store, if you love using sentiments then this is the place you need to go to.

Today I have made a Stubby Diamond Card, I love these cards they are so dramatic with their intricate folds.

My backing papers are from a 12x12 scrapbook pad from Hot off the press and is called Sara Papers. This pad has some of the most gorgeous papers. My flowers are from Hobby Craft and the leaves are made using a punch. As usual my ribbon and gems are from our local market.

This sentiment is one of my quotes that I collect, Ann designed it for me and I love it, it was a freebie on the Sentimental Sundays Blog a few weeks ago. The frame you can buy from Raindrop Echo Designs, I printed out two of these framees and cut the centre out of the top one, very carefully around all the beautiful little leaves, I then coloured this with chalks and added gems around the edge. I attached it to the bottom layer that contained the quote and used 3D pads to raise it slightly.

I decided to make a card for a Dad's Birthday.....The backing papers are all from my stash. The trophy is from a My Craft Studio CD, I put the sentiment onto it on the computer before printing out.

The fabulous image is available from The Stamping Boutique, it is called AJ The Race Car Driver. I have used Promarkers to colour the image.
