Happy Birthday to Jeni from me....

Hi Susan here....

This is a very special blog post for me, it is my daughter Jeni's birthday today and I wanted to wish her a beautiful Birthday with lots of laughs and memories.

This is the card I made just for her....

This is my favourite type of card to make I think they are so dramatic and I know that Jeni loves them too.

My backing papers are from my stash, I used them because they are Jeni's favourite colours, they are very 'arty' and remind me of an old masters painting.
All the beautiful swirls are from dies, I have inked them using similar colours to my backing paper.
The ribbon, lace and pearls as usual are from our local market.
The gorgeous butterfly in the background is a die, I have again used inks to colour it and attached pearls all over.

This is to show you the hidden tag, where my sentiment to Jeni has been written.

One of my favourite stamped images from Lili of the Valley, both my daughters used to dress up like this when they were little and every time I look at this image it brings a smile on my face when I remember them as little girls.  I have used promarkers to colour the image.

This flower I made just for Jeni because I know she likes them, the smaller roses are from Hobby Craft.

This gorgeous sentiment and frame are from Raindrop Echo Designs, I have colour the frame with inks and added glitter for a little bit of sparkle.

I hope you liked my card, and I hope you do too Jeni!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Thank you for looking, and for all your wonderful comments
Love and hugs

Yes! It's another Christmas card....

Hi Susan here...

I know!! Another Christmas card, but you know you can't have too many at this time of the year...you always need one extra card to give to someone....so that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it hahaha!!

I hope you like it, I had some spare time and thought I would make something just for the fun of it!

I made a gatefold card for this project, hard to photograph I know but I like them and they look very effective when finished.
The backing paper I found in my stash, it is from Fancy Pants Designs.com and is called 'Saint Nick'. I love this paper it has swirls and snowflakes in the background that are all muted. I aged the outer edges of the paper with inks.
I used a die to make the swirls and added glitter to them after I had used inks to slightly alter the colour.
The flowers are from Hobby Craft and Crafty Emma's, gorgeous little flowers. I added little green gems all around them.
The gorgeous tree on the side is from Nitwits and looks like it is embossed, I added stickles to the 'embossed' parts and some pearls, a small ribbon bow to the trunk to finish it off.
The ticket and sentiment are from a set by Tim Holtz.

This view is to show you what it looks like stood up and the beautiful tree.

This is becoming one of my favourite stamps, it is from Nellie Snellen, check out Bunny Zoes they are in stock here. I used distressing inks to colour the image. I absolutely adore that little frog....he's just waiting for some magic to happen to him.

This beautiful sentiment is from Raindrop Echo Designs and has been designed by Ann Vento. I changed the colour of the wording on the computer to match my colour scheme.

Thank you for looking and your wonderful comments

Lexi's Creations...One for the lads

Hi Susan here...

Can you believe it will be the beginning of December later this week, Christmas is just around the corner with all its excitement....ooooh I can't wait!! I am just a kid at heart I think, I love this time of year, giving handmade cards and presents to friends and family and seeing their faces, its wonderful and I always look forward to it.

Today at Lexi's Creations we decided to have a challenge that sometimes is hard for some people, but the men in our lives deserve to have a nice handmade card just like us girls, so the theme of the new challenge is 'One for the lads' and it can be a birthday or Christmas or anything else card, its up to you.
For full details of the challenge, our sponsor and to set you eyes on some great inspiration from the design team call across to Lexi's Creations.

Now onto my card....

I chose to make a man's/boy's birthday card to cover the theme of the challenge, I am always short of masculine cards to give away!
I have used gingham backing papers available from Bev Rochester's blog. I often change the colour of these backing papers on my computer to suit the colour scheme I am using but these two I left alone.
The ribbon is from my stash, the flowers are from Prima with buttons from my button box.
The hanging sign is a die, I cut it out of antique gold mirri and slightly aged it more with rub-ons.

This cute guy is called 'Golfer Max' and has been designed by our own Lexi Lee and available from Fairy Dust Crafts. I used promarkers to colour and shade the image.

We are also holding a DT Call at Lexi's if you wish to be considered please enter the challenge and put DT after your name.

Thank you so much for looking today, and for all your fabulous comments.

The small amount of backing paper and cardstock is from our stash. The calendar jumble is our own digi design.
The flowers are a mix from Hobby Craft and Crafty Emma's Store. The leaves have been made from white cardstock, deckle scissors, inks and a ball tool.
The ribbons are all from our Local Market.
The beautiful snowflake charm is from Crafty Emma's Store.
I used some red mirri card and dies to cut out the letters that spell the word 'lists', something me and my family do a lot of. A list for this, a list for that....lol!!

This is to show you the side view of the notepad.

This cute digi image 'Jolly Josie' has been designed by Marina Neira and available from The Stamping Bazaar Store.

Lexi's Creations.....No Straight Edges

Hi Susan here....

Well here we are again, two weeks have flown past and another great challenge has started at Lexi's Creations. This time the theme is 'NO STRAIGHT EDGES'. So we want to see curves, scallops, circles, ovals etc...but no straight edges.
For full details of this challenge, our sponsor and to get some fabulous inspiration for the challenge from our design team call across to Lexi's Creations Challenge Blog.

Now onto my card.....

I hope you like my take on the 'No Straight Edges' theme for this challenge. I used a die for the main card just slightly lipping it off the edge of my folded card, I have gently inked the edges and added stickles before adding the layers of deckle cut circles for the backing.
As usual the pearls are from my local market.

This is the view of the card stood up. The flowers are a mix from Hobby Crafts and Crafty Emma's. The leaves I made using deckle scissors, inks and a ball tool.

This gorgeous quote is one of John Lennons, I have designed the layout on the computer, I love this quote.
I used a die to cut it out with scallops, then embossed it using the same die, then I inked the edges.

This beautiful digital image fairy has been designed by Lexi Lee and is called 'Elaina', available from Fairy Dust Crafts. I have used chalks and stickles to colour the image.

Thank you for taking the time to look and for all the wonderful comments.

Hi Susan here....

We are half way through our challenge over at Fussy and Fancy, the on-going challenge is

I love this type of challenge, my favourite kind of card is one that features a beautiful sentiment on the front.
For the full details of the challenge, our sponsor, and to get some further inspiration from the rest of the design team call across to the Fussy and Fancy Challenge Blog.

Now onto my card....

My favourite two colours are brown and pink and this card incorporates both of those colours.
My backing papers are from my stash, I cannot remember where they had come from originally just that I liked them together. I have distressed all the edges with Tim Holtz Distressing Ink.
My cute little butterflies have been made using a punch, then colouring them with inks and adding stickles and pearls.
The ribbon and pearls as usual are from our local market.

The doily is made using an embossing die then adding ink to the raised areas.
The frame and sentiment has been designed by Ann Vento and is available from Raindrop Echo Designs. I printed this out on kraft card then inked the edges with distressing ink.

This is a close up of my flowers, I have used some feathers and real leaves that I pressed from my garden. The large flower in the centre I made using a die some inks and pearls, the rest of the flowers are from Hobby Craft.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look and for all your wonderful comments.

Sentimental Sundays.....Wedding/Anniversary

Hi Susan here......

Today being Sunday is time again for a challenge over at Sentimental Sundays.
The theme of the challenge this week is 'Wedding/Anniversary'. Now I have to admit I don't make a lot of this type of card, except when I have to, so it was a challenge for me!
You can get the full details of the challenge and our sponsors plus some fabulous inspiration from the design team by calling across to the Sentimental Sundays Challenge Blog.

Now onto my card.....

I chose my favourite colours for this one, browns and pinks. I love those colours together and always think they look romantic, soft and lovely.
My backing paper was from my stash, I don't know where it was from originally but I loved the colours.
I used a Multi-Shaper allDeco punch for the side border. The ribbon and pearls as usual are from our local market. The cute little butterflies are a punch, I used white card then coloured them with inks, glitter and pearls. The two hearts are made from card using a cuttlebug die. I coloured them with inks then coated one in crackle glaze and the other in stickles.

This beautiful sentiment made for me by Ann Vento is available from Raindrop Echo Designs, the frame is available from the same place, I coloured the frame on the computer. I mat and layered the frame onto a doily that was made using an embossing die.

This is a close up of my flowers, the small roses and buds are from Hobby Craft, the larger rose, was made using a die and then inking and shaping. Inspiration for this came from a rose bush I have in my garden. The leaves are made from white card and a deckle pair of scissors, some inks and a ball tool.

Thank you so much for looking and for all your wonderful comments.

Call across to Lexi's Creations for the challenge details, and sponsor prizes, and to get some fantastic inspiration from our design team, they have all outdone themselves this time.

Now onto my creation.....

This is the front view of my notebook....
My ribbon, rustic trim and gems are from Fred Aldous here in Manchester...check this place out for embellishments they are great!
The beautiful metal soldier charm is from my stash, I bought a packet of charms a while ago on holiday in the USA, I absolutely love them.
My backing paper is from my stash, the tree is from Nitwits. The doily is a die. All the edges have been aged with inks.

This is to show you how the notebook looks from the side....I have used a 'Bind-it' machine to make the notebook. Then fastened ribbons onto the binding wires for extra trim.

You will all recognise this little chap....He is Marvin with Candy Cane, designed by Marina Neira and available from The Stamping Bazaar Store. I have coloured him entirely with chalks.

Sentimental Sundays....Birth flowers

Hi Susan here....

Today we are starting another great challenge over at Sentimental Sundays and the theme is
'BIRTH FLOWERS'
This is about the flowers that are associated with the month you were born in.
For full details of the challenge, our sponsor and to get yourself some amazing inspiration from the design team call across to the Sentimental Sundays Challenge Blog.

Now onto my card...

Well being born in December it wasn't hard to make a card with my birth flower, it is a poinsettia so another Christmas card was popping into my head straight away.

The small amount of backing paper I used on this card is from my stash, the plain cardstock is from Papermill Direct. I used a border punch for the edges of the green cardstock.
The beautiful metal Christmas Brads have been in my stash for ages.

This gorgeous stamp is from Sugar Nellie and I have used a grey memento ink for stamping as I wanted the edges soft, then coloured it in with promarkers, then added stickles for a bit of glitter here and there.

And last but not least here is my Birth Flower, the poinsettia, I have made this from cardstock with a ball tool and inks for colouring the edges, I made holly leaves and put them in the mixture. The centre of the flowers are micro beads.

I hope you have liked my card, and it has encouraged you to join our challenge.
Thank you for all your wonderful comments, they are so encouraging.
