Fussy and Fancy.....Anything but a square

Hi Susan here....

Over at Fussy and Fancy a new challenge has begun today and the theme is
'ANYTHING BUT A SQUARE'

Is this a hard one for you, it could have been for me as that is the only shape I seem to use these days.....but my mind started working and I came up with the ideal answer to two upcoming events....
Easter cards and this challenge.

For full details of the challenge at Fussy and Fancy please call across to the challenge blog you can also set your eyes on some amazing inspiration from the design team.

This will be my final challenge as a DT member for Fussy and Fancy, I have decided that to make life fun again with my crafting I need more time, so I have dropped out now from all my DT work to give me more time for a different variety of work I want to do. Don't worry both myself and Emma will still be blogging and making cards etc. but just for the fun of it. Watch this space!!

Now for my card for this challenge.....

I needed another Easter card and what better way to make one when you need a special shape for a challenge. Wow, this shape is one I have not done in years, it's always good I think sometimes to go back and do things you haven't done for a while, as I really enjoyed making this card.
I have used Kraft card for the base and some brown paper that I cut out using scallop scissors, the check paper is from Nitwits as is the pink flowery card behind the topper.
All edges have been inked using Tim Holtz Walnut Stain.
The flowers are from Hobby Craft, the large cream one I made using a daisy die that needed rolling, I found a really old metal brad with a yellow pearl in the center in our stash that I thought looked ideal for what I wanted for the middle of the flower.
The Easter Eggs are stickers, can't tell you where these are from, we have had them for an age in our stash, but they are glittery and I thought they looked great with the colour I was using.

Marvin with Easter Egg.....he is so cute, designed by Marina Neira and available from The Stamping Bazaar Store.
I have used chalks to colour and shade the image.

Thanks for so much for looking and leaving all your fabulous comments
Love and hugs

Lexi's Creations.....Easter

Hi Susan here....

We have a brand new challenge starting at Lexi's Creations today and considering the time of year the theme is really easy - 'EASTER'
You can make whatever you want as long as the theme throughout your creation is Easter.
For full details of the challenge, our sponsor and to set your eyes on some amazing inspirational creations please call across to Lexi's Creations Challenge Blog.

Now onto my card....

The backing paper is all from stash and I used a Magnolia die for the edging of the strip, I love these dies they are so quirky....especially when you want something that's not got to be uniform.
The hearts are Creatables dies/embossers from Marianne Designs, I have used inks to distress them and added stickles to the edges. These have got to be my favourite heart shapes.
My flowers are from Hobby Craft, the leaves I make myself.

I love using cutesy images and this one is no exception. It has been designed by Lexi Lee and is called 'Easter Egg Lillie' you can find this and many more from Fairy Dust Crafts.
I have used chalks for colouring and shading, I also added some stickles to add a little sparkle to the egg.

Thank you for looking and for all your wonderful comments
Love and hugs
