The Stamping Bazaar ... Catch of the Day

Hi Susan here....

Each Monday on The Stamping Bazaar Blog we showcase all the creations made by the design team for the coming week using an image designed by Marina Neira for The Stamping Bazaar Store.

Each day of the week you will be getting inspiration from of our talented team. The DT are going to show you on their own blogs how they made their creations, and you will be able to follow the links to the image in the Store and for the next days DT member throughout the week.

Today is my day to show you what I have made.....

Now for my card....

A very simple card made using card and papers from my stash, I couldn't believe how well they all matched together. I love making men/boys cards they are so easy to do, not requiring much in the form of embellishments, my grandson wouldn't like a card that is fussy, and as my husband is a fisherman this is ideal for him!!

This fabulous image designed by Marina Neira and available from The Stamping Bazaar Store is called 'Catch of the Day' and I used promarkers to colour it before carefully cutting around the image and gently shaping it to slightly 3D the image on the topper card. Marina's images are so fabulous and so easy to colour to get a great finished result, her store is well worth a visit if you haven't been there before.

These ticket sentiments are designed by Lexi Lee and are available from Stitchy Bear Stamps. Lexi has lots of sentiments at her store also, take a look at Fairy Dust Crafts.

Today you will also be able to see some fabulous work from our DT member Lou, please call across to Lou's Blog and leave her some love, her work is so inspirational. Tomorrow there will not be anything from our two DT members Tina and Tash due to illness and computer problems, we wish them a speedy recovery from both and look forward to them joining us again.

Don't forget to call again at The Stamping Bazaar Blog on Monday to see next weeks creations, and on Wednesday for our regular Special Designer Guest Spot.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my card and for all your wonderful comments

Now for my card....

The idea for this card came from the ABC Christmas Challenge, Dorte has made a fabulous tutorial for this technique, I loved it, go and check it out and try it....you will be surprised with the results!!
My backing paper is from a collection by Nancy Watts....beautiful delicate design I couldn't resist using it.
I have used a brown and green piece of card for the side border and punched a design on each side, I used the same brown card to back the topper and the 'hot spot'.
My ribbon and pearls are from our local market. I love this seam binding, I actually coloured this with inks to match my colour scheme as I only had a dark green in my stash...I was really pleased with the results. The flowers I have used are from Hobby Craft the leaves I made using a punch.

My image has been designed by Marina Neira and it is called 'Bikkies Discovery', available from The Stamping Bazaar Store, this is one of two new designs in the store. The technique is called 'Hot Spot' and I have given a link to the tutorial above. I gently inked the edges of the topper and coloured the Hot Spot with promarkers.
