Lexi's Creations.....Charming.....A Gift

Hi Susan here...

Over at Lexi's Creations we are starting a new challenge today, this one got my mojo working overtime, so much so I didn't know where to start.
The challenge is called 'CHARMING'....obvious I suppose....we want to see a charm on your card/creations. The theme of your creation is up to you, I chose a Christmas theme, well because at the moment that's all I seem to be able to think of ...hahaha...hoping and wishing, you all know what I mean, you're never too old to dream!!
Call across to Lexi's Creations for the challenge details, and sponsor prizes, and to get some fantastic inspiration from our design team, they have all outdone themselves this time.

Now onto my creation.....

This is the front view of my notebook....
My ribbon, rustic trim and gems are from Fred Aldous here in Manchester...check this place out for embellishments they are great!
The beautiful metal soldier charm is from my stash, I bought a packet of charms a while ago on holiday in the USA, I absolutely love them.
My backing paper is from my stash, the tree is from Nitwits. The doily is a die. All the edges have been aged with inks.

This is to show you how the notebook looks from the side....I have used a 'Bind-it' machine to make the notebook. Then fastened ribbons onto the binding wires for extra trim.

You will all recognise this little chap....He is Marvin with Candy Cane, designed by Marina Neira and available from The Stamping Bazaar Store. I have coloured him entirely with chalks.

These beautiful tickets designed by Lexi Lee and available from Fairy Dust Crafts.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my notebook, and for all your wonderful comments that you leave me, they are so encouraging.
Love and hugs

Sentimental Sundays....Birth flowers

Hi Susan here....

Today we are starting another great challenge over at Sentimental Sundays and the theme is
'BIRTH FLOWERS'
This is about the flowers that are associated with the month you were born in.
For full details of the challenge, our sponsor and to get yourself some amazing inspiration from the design team call across to the Sentimental Sundays Challenge Blog.

Now onto my card...

Well being born in December it wasn't hard to make a card with my birth flower, it is a poinsettia so another Christmas card was popping into my head straight away.

The small amount of backing paper I used on this card is from my stash, the plain cardstock is from Papermill Direct. I used a border punch for the edges of the green cardstock.
The beautiful metal Christmas Brads have been in my stash for ages.

This gorgeous stamp is from Sugar Nellie and I have used a grey memento ink for stamping as I wanted the edges soft, then coloured it in with promarkers, then added stickles for a bit of glitter here and there.

And last but not least here is my Birth Flower, the poinsettia, I have made this from cardstock with a ball tool and inks for colouring the edges, I made holly leaves and put them in the mixture. The centre of the flowers are micro beads.

I hope you have liked my card, and it has encouraged you to join our challenge.
Thank you for all your wonderful comments, they are so encouraging.
Love and hugs

Fussy and Fancy....3 B's

Hi Susan here...

For full details of the challenge, our sponsor and for some fabulous inspiration from the design team call across to the Fussy and Fancy Challenge Blog.

Now onto my card.....

My backing paper is from my stash, I have used some black cardstock and punched a design around the four sides leaving the corners plain. This is where I have stuck some dark green buttons on. I have used Stickles on the edges of the punched borders.
The tiny little 'bling' crystals are from my stash, I have used them on the leaves on the tree and to represent flowers on the foreground.
The ticket sentiment is from Raindrop Echo Designs.

This gorgeous image is a stamp from Lili of the Valley and is one of my favourite images for boys/mens cards.
I have coloured the image entirely with chalks.

Thank you for taking the time to look and for all your wonderful comments.

Happy Birthday to Emma from her son Liam.....

Hi Susan here introducing my Grandson Liam....This is a message off him.

It is my Mam's birthday today and I wanted to let her know I was thinking of her and to wish her a very happy birthday. Thank you for everything you do for me, and for being a great Mam and my best friend.

We made the following card between us, here are the details....

The little butterflies have been made using a punch, some ink and glitter.
The ticket has been designed by Lexi  Lee and is available from Fairy Dust Crafts.
My backing paper is from K&Co Hannah Scrap Pad.
Ribbon and pearls as usual are from our local market.

This gorgeous image is from Nellie Snellen, Liam picked it because it had a frog on it and he knows his Mam has a passion for frogs, and also because she likes fairies. We coloured it with promarkers.

The flowers are a mix, the smaller roses and buds are from Hobby Craft, the large rose and leaves we made using a die for the scalloped rose and the leaves using deckle scissors, inks and a ball tool for detail.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAM!!

White on white.....Christmas Card

Hi Susan here....

I have tried something that I have never done before, a pure white Christmas card with just the colours of grey for the image. I hope you all like the finished result as much as I do, it was harder than I thought it would be, not to add an accent colour, but then I suppose the green calyx on the flowers was a little bit of added colour.

Yes, believe it or not, it is pure white, just different shades of white.
I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the background paper. The ribbon and pearls are as usual from our local market.
The ticket was a stamp that I have had for ages but the ticket was a die from Tim Holtz. Stickles was added here and there for a bit of sparkle.

This fabulous image designed by Marina Neira and available from The Stamping Bazaar Store is called 'Jolly Josie', I used a black lead pencil to 'colour' the image in.

The flowers are a mix, the small blossoms are from Crafty Emma's Store, the buds from Fred Aldous here in Manchester, the large rose and leaves I made using a die.

Thank you so much for looking and for all your wonderful comments

My beautiful crinkle look paper is from my stash, originally from a box of 12x12 papers.
The ribbon and pearls are from our local market.
The butterflies I made using a punch and a die, colouring the card with inks and glitter.

This beautiful sentiment designed by Lexi Lee and available from Fairy Dust Crafts is called 'Love Sentiment'. I have mat and layered it using dies and then inking the shapes. The edges I used stickles to glitter them.
Go and check out Fairy Dust Crafts for the beautiful and inspiring sentiments that Lexi has designed.

My flowers are a mix, the smaller roses and buds are from Hobby Craft and the large rose is handmade using a die.

This is a close-up of my tile....I coloured the tile with pink paint first the over stamped it twice first with text then with a butterfly, then when it was dry I distressed the edges with white paint. The tile has been made out of fimo.

I used inks to slightly colour the edges and put black paper behind the face.
My backing papers are from my stash and I was so pleased that they all matched with each other.
The large chipboard 'H' is from Cloud 9 Designs, I used rub-ons for the letters to complete the word 'Halloween' and then stamped some bats onto the top of the letter.
The ticket is from Tim Holtz, I used the same green card that the card blank is made from and then aged the edges with inks.
The little flowers are from Hobby Craft.

Well I couldn't make a card about Halloween without using this little chappy from The Stamping Bazaar Store, designed by Marina Neira. I have used chalks to colour the image.

Well there you have it, I hope you liked looking. Thank you for all your comments they are so welcome.

Snowflakes for a Fairy....

Hi Susan here....

Yes...I have made another Christmas card....I love them, but most of all I love these new Sugar Nellie Stamps...they are gorgeous and so inspirational, you just can't help make cards with them!!

Anyway, as I have told you before I need some extra cards this year and wanted some extra special ones so I have been spending some time and making an array of cards all different.....I hope you all like them.

Well what do you think....I adore pink Christmas cards they are so different from the traditional ones, and of course it just happens to be my favourite colour.

The ribbon, lace and pearls are from our local market. The snowflake edges are a die from Tim Holtz, love it so much!! The smaller silver snowflakes are made using a punch.
I have used another die for the swirls, and then coloured them with inks to match the colour scheme.
My backing paper is a beautiful pink multi-tonal paper with snowflakes all over it, this I have had in my stash for years...finally using it!!

This view is so that you can see how it stands up with the snowflakes on the sides.

This is the most beautiful little fairy ever....her name is Titania, and I have used promarkers to colour the image. Unfortunately it looks like I have left the skirt plain but I promise you it is coloured in a very delicate shade of pink. Stickles have been added to the wings and wand.

My flowers are a mix, the smaller roses and buds are from Hobby Craft and the large white one I made using a die, the leaves I made using card, deckle scissors and inks.

Thank you so much for looking, I hope you liked it, your comments mean so much to me.
