Allsorts Challenge Week 51 by Susan

I am entering my card in this weeks Allsorts Challenge, there was a lovely sketch to follow, and here is my entry....

I love the Elisabeth Bell stamps and decided to use the colours blue and lilac as I think they compliment each other so well.

The image I coloured in using Pro-markers.

The large flowers I made myself using a five petal flower punch and trimming it to make the shape I wanted I used a large spacer and a brad for the centre. I coloured it using inks, the tiny blossom flowers I made from a Martha Stewart punch and shaping it to give it body. The other flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The ribbons and lace I get from my local market.
The sentiment I designed on the computer.
I hope you like my creation, thanks for looking.

So Sweet...

This beautiful image by Elisabeth Bell is so sweet, I love it...

I folded the card to make a double gatefold card then cut the height down to make a square card. I edged the outer folds with a punched edging using a Martha Stewart punch. The backing paper is from Joanna Sheen Victorian Flowers CD Rom which I printed onto pearlescent paper.

The large flower I joined together several layers of individual Prima Flowers which I coloured to match my layout with distressing inks, and then a bud in the centre. I coloured the image using distressing inks and Pro-markers.

Hope you like my creation, thanks for looking.

A special gift....

This is a gift I had made for my sister Jen, which I made up from a set of templates. The papers and images are from a collection from Nitwits - they are just so cute!! I embellished the four sides with lots of flowers and gems that I already had in my stash. I also used some cute cat plastic pawprints and some cute 'fishy' embellishments...

...the tiny knitting needles are just cocktail sticks with a little bead on the end, and I couldn't resist doing a tiny piece of knitting coming from them!!!

The little handles on the drawer fronts were dolls house accessories which I stained with ink before I attached them...

...this is the top view of the drawers!
Thankyou Jen for letting me borrow your gift xxx

Innocence

I love using these stamps by Sarah Kay, they are such innocent looking images of a bygone era.
The papers I used were from my stash, I must have had for years....

The lace I surrounded the image with was from my local market, I love using lace and ribbons on my cards especially when the images are so cute. I use distressing inks and pro-markers to colour in my stamped image.
The large flower I made using two sizes of Spellbinders scalloped nestabilities using an old book for the paper, I used distressing ink to colour the paper and screwed it up as much as possible to give a really soft ruffled effect before I joined all the layers together with the button in the middle. The other flowers that surround this one are from the Prima range.
The corner was made using a Sizzix die and coating with clear Glossy Accents.

I hope you like my creation, thank you for looking.

Chicks

I love these stamps from Sarah Kay, they are so innocent and pure in heart kind of feeling stamps. It doesn't matter what colour you choose they always colour beautifully and blend in with whatever design you think of...

I use a selection of papers from an Artylicious CD Rom called Filigree Fusion, the backing papers on this disk are absolutely gorgeous and if like me you like paisley designs then this is a great source. I printed them on a pearlescent paper the effects are really nice.

I have distressed all the edges of my papers and then added a tiny touch of Stickles. The stamp I coloured in using a variety of distressing inks and Pro-Markers. The flowers I made myself using two different sizes of punch, the smaller of the two I used my main backing paper, I then made vein markings before distressing the edges. I slightly curved the outer edges and stickled them before they were joined together. The button in the middle is a silk embroidered button that I have had for ages. The ribbon I buy from my local market.

Hope you like my creation, thanks for looking.

'Happy Birthday'

For this card I have used a swirly tree stamp by Kanban and stamped straight onto acetate. I used a nestabilitie die to make an aperture in the front of my main card and then attached the acetate image behind. The papers I have used are by Making Memories....

...I have glittered all my flowers and the the scalloped edge at the top of the card, the ribbons and buttons I already had in my stash...

I have crocheted my own flower and layered it with some other flowers that I already had in my stash, the sentiment was a really old 'rub on' that I have had for years!!

Thanks for looking

Sunflowers

The printed image and backing papers for this card were from My Craft Studio, which I decoupaged. The centre of the flowers were finished using micro beads. I made the large sunflowers myself using a sizzix die that I layered up to six times to get the effect.
The buckle is made from chipboard that I have had in my stash for ages, I coloured it with distressing inks and covered it with glossy accents.
A Martha Stewart punch was used for the edges of my two accent papers.

Hope you like this card, thanks for looking.

'Love'

I love this stamp by Sarah Kay. The little kitten always reminds me of our cats and how they follow you around.
My favourite colour is pink so most of my cards end up pink!
The corner was cut using a sizzix die which I then glossed using Glossy Accents.
The large flower I made myself after reading a tutorial on one of the blogs we visited. Forgive me, but I cannot remember who's blog it was, it won't happen again!
The flower edges were stickled. The small flowers were from Prima Flowers.
Hope you like my creation. Thanks for looking.

'Guitarman'

I was asked to make a card for a friends son who was interested in music....

He plays all the time on his guitar, so that was enough information to start the ball rolling. The background papers were from my stash, but the music sheet and guitars were from Google Images, a great source for images. I also copied from the internet the treble cleff, which I printed onto card and embossed it two times after I cut it out. The text was designed on Serif, using the text shape tool. I mat and layered it using Spellbinders nestabilities classic scalloped circle dies

This was a simple card but I enjoyed making it, and my friend was really pleased with it.

Hope you like my creation, thanks for looking.

.....the beautiful flowers are a mix of my own that I punched and coloured, some are from wild orchid crafts and I have used some flowers by Prima. The lace trimming is from my local market...

'Moments'

I stamped this image using Memento London Fog Ink, which made the image after colouring look a little 'foggy' but I was pleased with the effect anyway!

I used lace and papers from my stash. The large flowers I made myself from punches, using coloured card, which I edged with distressing inks and when the flower was complete I put a tiny amount of stickles onto the edges.

Hope you like my creation, thanks for looking.
