Great Friends....

Hi Susan here....

Over at Sentimental Sundays a new challenge has started and the theme is 'Anything Goes plus a sentiment'.  We have two sponsors for this weeks challenge - Hearts Song Designs and Raindrop Echo Designs. For full details of the challenge and to see some absolutely fabulous inspiration from the design team call across to the Sentimental Sundays Challenge Blog and join in with us.

Now for my card...

I decided for this one to do an old favourite of mine in the card shape - A Pop Out Card. I love making these cards they are so effective, and give a WOW factor for anyone receiving them.

This is the inside of the card and shows the hidden verse behind a pop out frame. All my backing papers are from Bearlymine Designs, I have aged with inks and distressed the edges. The lace and gems are as usual from our local market. The swirls were made using some of the backing paper and a Sizzix decorative accents die.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Prima. The leaves I punched out using some of the background paper.

My sentiment and frame designed by our very own Ann Vento are from Raindrop Echo Designs, I have coloured the border of the frame using chalks to match my colour scheme.

Suzi says Happy Birthday Wishes....

Hi Susan here....

Last week we did a post to introduce to you a new stamp store called Wee Stamps, and this little image that I am bringing you today is the first of many.....The designer Sylvia Zet is so talented please call across and check out the beautiful images she has to offer, I am sure this lady is going to be a massive hit with her new store and digi images.

My backing papers are all from my stash, I have managed to used quite a few bits and pieces on this card.  The border along the bottom edge has been punched using a Multi Shaper allDeco Punch. The gorgeous tag is from Kay and Co. My gros grain ribbon and gems are as usual from our local market. I love using the roses and buds from Wild Orchid Crafts and putting them onto some petal backgrounds from Prima Flowers.

So here she is, Suzi by Sylvia Zet, or at least my version of her, coloured using Promakers and available from Wee Stamps. She is so gorgeous, just look at that face isn't it adorable!!! I have used what I am finding I love using more and more often now, a doily, for the backer of my image adds a touch of delicate lace, without having to use lace, to think we used these to put cakes on in the bakery.

My ticket sentiments, designed by Ann Vento, are available from Raindrop Echo Designs. I love using these tickets, they seem to suit almost any kind of card design.

I was inspired by the colours and the thought that Spring was fast approaching.....Those beautiful Spring days when we have gorgeous sunny days with the trees coming into bloom and the flowers just coming through, when you can sit and relax before the heat of the summer.
Going to the beach for the day and watching the waves hitting the shores enjoying those first good days of the year!!
My backing papers are from my stash, I have stitched and distressed the edges. The little buckle and ribbon remind me of a little boys trouser belt...they are both from my stash.
My image is from Lili of the valley and reminds me of my Grandson, any chance of sitting down and relaxing is fun for him hahaha!!! I coloured the image with promarkers, the flowers with button centres were made using a punch, as were the leaves.
My sentiment designed by Ann Vento is from Raindrop Echo Designs, I changed the colour to match my scheme.

Sweet Little Girl...

Hi Susan here....

Well its Saturday and I hope everyone has a great weekend.

My card today is 'just for me', I had some spare time and have not made a card using a Lili of the Valley image for ages so I got stuck in.

I have used my favourite colours, pink of course, I always think pink first, but I have mixed it this time with another one of my favourites brown. The sketch is from Lili of the Valley and I have followed it without  any twisting and turning, I loved using it, inspiration poured from it. The papers are all from my stash, these have either been printed for other creations or from old scrapbooking stacks. I haven't distressed or inked this time I wanted to leave it plain and clean. I just used the various shades of my colours to mat and layer. My beautiful shiny white organza ribbon and pearls are from our local market. His little stall is like an alladins cave, everywhere you look there is something there hidden away waiting to be found by someone.

The sentiment is a sticker from a set that we bought years ago with a selection of papers and bits and bobs for scrapbooking.
This beautiful little rubber image from Lili of the Valley is one of my favourites, it always reminds me of my two daughters Emma and Jeni playing dressing up with my shoes and bags and my make-up, wow thats a story I could tell!!! They used to play for hours and this little image always make me smile and remember.
I have used promarkers to colour it.
