Creative Card Crew....No Stamps

Hi Susan here...

Today at Creative Card Crew we have started a new challenge and the theme is 'NO STAMPS'. For full details of the challenge and for some great inspiration from the design team please call across to the Creative Card Crew Challenge Blog and try and join in with us!!

Now for my card...

The theme of this weeks challenge is NO STAMPS, so keeping to that I have made my card using dies, handmade paper and a handmade flower.
I have used a small piece of handmade backing paper from my stash....it has a very delicate flowery pattern on it and I felt it was just right for what I wanted. I have stitched all around the edges and distressed with Tim Holtz distressing ink. The sentiment has been made on the computer and printed direct onto the backing paper.

The large swirly accent is a die from Sizzix, I used a pink card then inked the edges of the swirls with the same distressing ink as the backing paper. The pearls and ribbon are from our local market. My flower has been made using scraps of netting and two colours of organza fabric, I used a circle die to initially cut the circles then I used a naked flame to sear the edges before fastening the shapes together with a gem brad. I loved making this flower and it has such a dramatic effect on the card.

Hi Susan here...

For full details of the challenge and to see some fabulous inspiration from the design team call across to the Sentimental Sundays Challenge Blog and join in with us all.

Now for my card....

My beautiful flowered backing paper is from my stash, it was a small square just the right size, I have teamed it up using scraps of chocolate brown coloured card for matting and layering. The edges have all been distressed and glittered. As usual my ribbon, lace and gems are from our local market. The two little brown hearts in the foreground are a die from Sizzix, I have added glitter to one and crackle glaze to the other.

My beautiful sentiment has been designed by Ann Vento and is available from Raindrop Echo Designs,  our sponsor for this challenge. I cut by hand my own shape for the frame and distressed and glittered the edges. My flowers are from Hobby Craft, the leaves are made using a punch. My pins have been altered by adding more beads to the stem, I have had the deep red and white beads for ages and they looked so good next to this colour scheme.

A Molly Mittens reminder....

Hi Susan here...

Today we are reminding you of the ongoing challenge over at Fussy and Fancy. The theme is a sketch designed by Mindy see below....
Challenge 32
For full details of the challenge call across HERE and check out some fabulous inspiration from both designs teams.

Now for my card....

I know, some of you now will be giving a gasp.....but I made this because Tickled Pink Stamps have begun a new monthly challenge devoted to Christmas creations. Lets face it you can never have too many cards.
My backing papers are from a 6x6 scrapbook of designer paper by Kay & Co. I have distressed the edges using distress inks from Tim Holtz. The punched border across the middle has been punched using  a punch from Fiskars, I used a satin sheen card. My ribbons and pearls are from our local market. The poinsettia is from our local market, it was too tall to go onto my card so I pulled it apart and cut away the thick stem and then stuck it all back together again keeping it pinched in the centre.

This beautiful image designed by Marina Neira and available from Tickled Pink Stamps is called Molly Mittens Christmas. I have used Promarkers to colour the image and then gently inked the outer edges of the topper and mat and layered onto a punched edged red and cream card. I then added glitter to the edges of the topper.

I love making these statement pieces and the sentiment was made on my computer. the edges have been glittered with stickles.

My backing papers are from Bearlymine, these papers are amazing, they are two tone, with a beautiful delicate design on them. My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Prima, the leaves are made using a punch. The sentiment and frame designed by Ann Vento are from Raindrop Echo Designs. I changed the colour of the frame on the computer.

One of my absolute favourite images from The Stamping Bazaar - Marvin with Daisies, designed by Marina Neira. I have cut the image out after colouring with Promarkers and raised it with foam pads.

Hi Susan here....

Today at The Stamping Bazaar we have a new challenge and the theme is 'Monochrome', this simply means you use shades of one colour.  For full details of the challenge and to see some fabulous inspiration from the design team call HERE and join in the fun with us.

Now onto my card...

I decided to do another one of the multi folded cards, and I used a brown monochrome colour scheme. This meant I could go from creams right through to browns as they are all the same colour wheel.

This is the inside of my card, the backing paper is from Robyns Fetish, absolutely beautiful papers, the base card and the matting and layering card is from The Paper Mill Direct. I changed the colour of the backing paper from Robyns Fetish to brown to follow my colour scheme and matted all the panels onto a deep brown. My ribbons and pearls are from our local market.

My beautiful image has been designed by our very own Marina Neira and is called 'Josie in a Hat', she is available from The Stamping Bazaar Store. I have used Promarkers to colour the image. I used a corner punch for the topper. My butterflies have been made using a punch and inking the edges before adding glitter and pearls.

The tickets are from Raindrop Echo Designs and I have made the sentiments for the centres.

Elephants never forget....

Hi Susan here....

At Creative Card Crew a new challenge has begun today and the theme is 'NO FLOWERS', for full details of the challenge and to see some fabulous inspiration from the design team call across HERE and join in the fun with us.

Now onto my card...

Now this challenge was a hard one for me, I love putting flowers on my cards, and when I was searching for backing papers I realised that I couldn't even have flowers on them as well. My stash box is overflowing with bits and pieces, and I found these papers. My lace, ribbon and pearls are from our local market. The little butterflies are made using a punch I have coloured them with inks and added pearls for the bodies. The three hearts are made from chipboard using a die from Sizzix, I have added pearls and glitter.

The ever so cute image is from Robyns Fetish our sponsor for this challenge. I have coloured it using chalks only. The edges of the topper have been inked.

The word sentiment has been made on my computer, the die cut is from the Tickled Pink Store. The outer edges have been inked.

This completes my sentiments on the card, this is the inside.
