Lexi's Creations....Happy Birthday

Hi Susan here...

Can you believe how fast this year is moving along.....we are now starting the second week in June yikes!!
Over at Lexi's Creations this is the start of a new challenge today and we have chosen a nice easy one this time, the theme is

'Happy Birthday'

Yes it's as simple as that....it can be for male or female, child or adult as long as its a birthday themed creation that will be fine.
For full details of our challenge and our fabulous sponsor please call across to Lexi's Creations and take a look at the fabulous inspiration from my design team.

Now for my card....

My favourite kind of card is a birthday card...it is something special for whoever you give it to and can be part of the present as well!

My background papers are from my stash it is originally from a 12x12 Japanese pad, can't remember who's make, I only have a few pieces left and I love it to bits, they are such delicate patterns and colours.

The sentiment is from Fairy Dust Crafts designed by our very own Lexi Lee and appropriately called 'Happy Birthday'.
The die I used for the sentiment is from Tickled Pink Stamps designed by Ann Vento.
The ribbon is is from Ribbon Box, beautiful woven ribbon, I loved using it.
The flowers and leaves are a mixture....The small roses and buds are from Hobby Craft.
The leaves and the blue pansies I made myself. I used a punch for the shape then coloured the flowers with distress inks and a fine liner, the pearls in the centre are from our local market. I love making my own flowers and often get my inspiration from the flowers growing in my garden. These little blue pansies were originally planted in one part of my garden and have now over the years infiltrated almost every part of the garden, all different sizes and different shades, I love these little flowers.
The beautiful laser cut butterfly is from a collection called Craft for Occasions.

Thank you so much for looking at my work and for your wonderful comments

Hugs and Kisses....

Hi Susan here....

Today at The Stamping Bazaar we have a new challenge starting and the theme is a sketch designed by me!

For full details of the challenge and to check out some fabulous inspiration from the design team call across to The Stamping Bazaar Challenge Blog and join in the fun with us.

Now for my card...

I decided to make another valentine card but not using the traditional colours of red and pink. Yellow flowers are for deep friendship, new love or at least thats what it says in my books!! My backing papers are all from my stash drawer. The lace, ribbon and gems are all from our local market. I love making the swirls using the pearls, they used to 'ping' all over the craft room now they behave themselves and allow me to stick them just where I want them to go. hahaha!! My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

This has to be one of my favourite digi images that has been designed by Marina Neira. He is called - 'Marvin with Daisies' and can be found at The Stamping Bazaar Store. Check out the store for special offers that are available for a limited time. I have coloured him using Promarkers.

My sentiment is a rubber stamp from The Tickled Pink Store, the metal frame is from my stash.

Merry Christmas Luca.....

Hi Susan here....

Today a new challenge has begun at Sentimental Sunday and the theme is 'Inspired by a Song', It doesn't have to be a seasonal song, but let music be your guide in creating some projects..... For full details of the challenge and to see some fabulous inspiration from the design team take a look at the Sentimental Sunday Challenge Blog and join in the fun with us all.

Now for my card.....

When I heard that it was 'Inspired by a song' I did wonder what I could do, then I remembered this great image from The Tickled Pink Stamps Store and the music came next......So I decided to make a card that could be given to a man for Christmas. My backing papers are from Papermania 'Inspirations' pack, some brown handmade paper I had in my stash and a download sheet of Christmas carol music from the internet.
All the edges have been distressed and inked then glittered with stickles. The ribbon and gems are from my local market.

Here is my 'Gentleman' my inspiration with my song sheet....you can find him at The Tickled Pink Stamps Store and he is called 'Luca'. I have used Promarkers to colour him, I have cut him out 'carefully' and layered him onto the music sheet.

My Flower is handmade and the sentiment is from Raindrop Echo Designs. Both have been glittered with stickles.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my card and for leaving all your wonderful comments, they are very much appreciated.....I hope you liked it.
