Twas the Night Before Christmas.....

Hi Susan here. This is an exciting time for Emma and I, we have been chosen to be on the Cute Card Thursday Design Team, we will be taking it in turns designing for the challenges, this week is my turn!!

They have a challenge set each Thursday morning this week the challenge is 'Get a Head Start' and involves making a Christmas Card!! Not hard is it! It has the added bonus that you have at least one card ready for the holiday season to give away....

So let me tell you about my card!!

I have used The Sweet Stop Sketch and loved it!! My backing papers are from a CD Artylicious - Seasons Greetings, scrummy papers and colours and loads to choose from. I distressed all the edges and glittered them with stickles.

I wanted a semi-vintage look and hopefully I succeeded, I kept my colour scheme to red, black and white in subdued shades in keeping with a vintage feel.

The ribbon and lace are from our local market.

This image is a wooden stamp from Hampton Art called Santa Claus!! What else!!!

It doesn't require very much colouring in so I used chalks for a delicate shading for his hat and cheeks...

The flowers are from Prima and Wild Orchid Crafts, I glittered them with stickles

The sentiment I made myself on the computer, this whole poem is on the backing paper just behind the flowers!!

This cute vintage metal charm is one I bought from a little shop in Witchita on holiday a while ago.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:-

Thank you for taking the time to look at my card, I hope you liked it.

Love Susan

  20. Congrats on yet another DT Mam and Sis! Well deserved.
Mam this card is beautiful. Yes, it's very vintage looking and the Santa image is so traditional and just how Santa should look! I've seen this image quite a few times on your Christmas cards and I never grow tired of how lovely Santa looks. I love the flowers on the card aswell, it's a nice touch as I don't often see flowers, other than poinsettas, on Christmas cards - goes to show it works really well.
    Love ya both xxx
