Dad...

Hi it's Susan.

I like making men's cards, they make you come out of your comfort zone and think a little harder!!

I have used a great sketch from Truly Scrumptious, and using their backing paper theme of checks and/or gingham. What a great combination! Just right for a man's card, the colour scheme is my idea!!

My backing papers are from Nitwits, you can always find something that you want from their ranges. I have distressed all the edges, it seemed to go with the theme!!

The little brads in the centre are in the shape of buttons and I thought they looked adorable.

This fabulous digi image is 'Hamilton' from Pollycraft, just love him, he is so easy to colour and looks just like my Grandson.

I have used Pro-Markers to colour the image, I then distressed the edges to match the backing papers.

I put three little brad-tabs in colours to match my colour scheme and the other button brads in the corners.

The ribbon is from our stash, it was actually an old puppy lead that was no longer needed!

The buckle is made of chip-board, I coloured it using inks then glossed it with Glossy Accents.

These chip-board letters we have had for ages, I thought the colours and design looked just right on the finished card.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:-

Thank you for taking the time to look at my card, I hope you liked it.

Love Susan

  13. O wow!
This is one of the plainest and simplest cards I've seen you make and what a fantastic result. I love it because it is so simple. Colours, image, brads, wording... all spot on in my opinion for a mans card, no fussing around! They dont need as many pretty detailings as us girls!
I really love this card of your Mam, wonderful design xxx
