People......

Hi Susan here...

Well today being Thursday is the start of a new challenge at Cute Card Thursday and the theme is 'Gently Does It'. This week we want to see your cards/projects that have vellum/parchment or tissue paper on them. You can either add it as a layer, stamp your image onto it...or make an embellishment with it. Our sponsor is Meljens Designs.
The winner of the challenge is going to receive 4 images of their choice. WOW!!
For full information about the challenge and some fabulous inspiration from the design team please call across and join in the fun at Cute Card Thursday.

For my card I worked from a great sketch from Tickled Pink, not entering that challenge but loved the sketch. My backing papers are all from my stash, using left over papers from old scrapbooking pads. This was the second time of making this card, I thought I was working well in advance until I got the card out yesterday to photograph and what did I see....I had used originally handmade papers and the glue I had used to put it all together had all come through to the front so the first card had to be scrapped, but I am more pleased with the second one so it worked out for the best. The sentiment on the front of my card couldn't have been better!!!!  All my papers have been layered onto a deep red card. The ribbon and pearls are from our local market.

My sentiment is from Raindrop Echo Designs and I loved it. I have used Promarkers and chalks to colour the outer edges and have layered it onto a deep red coloured card.

I made the vellum butterflies and added wire antennae and pearls for the body and trails. The edges of the butterflies have been slightly inked, although on the photo you can't really see that!!

My flowers are all handmade using a five petal punch.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:-

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my card and for all your comments, I hope you liked it.
Love Susan

  8. WOW WOW WOW MAM. What an elegant and delicate card. I love how it doesn't seem specific to any celebration, so it could even be used as a thankyou card. This is so gorgeous, the details are great. I love how plain it is too, the simplicity of this card really suits the sentiment and true meaning of it.
Well done Mam, a definate favourite of mine from yours and Emmas ever-growing collection of masterpieces!!! xxx
